Amina Usman Abdullahi was born in Bauchi, Northeastern, Nigeria. Growing up as a child with a father who is an accomplished scientist made her developed an immense passion for science, leading her to major in Life Sciences.

Having fulfilled the basic requirements with distinctions in Biology, Physics and Chemistry, she proceeded to the prestigious Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in 2012, where she studied Applied Microbiology. Her final year undergraduate project focused on antimicrobial research and how some plants can act as antimicrobial drugs. She did this project due to her concern of antimicrobial resistance which has become a significant threat to global public health. Amina finished her bachelor's degree with a strong second class upper grade. She is a member of the Microbiology Society of Nigeria.

Amina 
had a brief sojourn as an intern at ATBU Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Clinic and Remee Medicare Nigeria limited. He curiosity, commitment and dedication have made her an adept in handling clinical samples through routine investigations, preparing medical samples and robust test analysis. She also had a six-month training with Bauchi Rural Water Supply and sanitation agency, where she developed an expertise in water quality, monitoring standards and treatment. Amina is currently pursuing her MSc in Environmental Microbiology at ATBU where her research focuses around antimicrobial resistance.
