Global Consortium of Chemosensory Researchers For COVID19
Wednesday 8 April 2020
Following a wave of reports from patients and clinicians about rapid onset smell loss, scientists, clinicians and patient advocated worldwide have united as the Global Consortium of Chemosensory Researchers (GCCR) to investigate the connection between the chemical senses and COVID-19.
The GCCR currently has more than 560 volunteers from more than 38 countries. They have a survey in English and German at the moment, and 20+ languages to come. You can find it here: https://sites.google.com/view/gcchemosensr/
The GCCR is also preparing a self-assessment that will go out soon. They would love a true global representation and asked us to inform scientists and clinicians who may be interested in joining this consortium to accept this Slack invite (the platform where they mostly communicate): https://join.slack.com/t/gccr-mql6351/shared_invite/zt-d0awmu92-bDwjAh_mr_gzvsHcHK5uOQ
The research protocol has been approved to be deployed globally via Penn State University.
