ASLN Fellow - Abdulsalam Mahmud To Attend Next Einstein Forum Global Gathering In Kenya
One of our Africa Science Literacy Network (ASLN) Fellow, Mr Abdulsalam Mahmud, will be attending the 2020 edition of the "Next Einstein Forum (NEF) Global Gathering" in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
The science-oriented event will attract distinguished scientists, award-winning researchers and prolific science journalists, across the world. It will take place at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, between March 10 and 13, 2020.
Mahmud, who is CAMPUSLIFE Correspondent for The Nation newspaper in Niger State, will join 19 other African journalists to participate in a 'Science Journalism Training and Script Writing Workshop' on March 9, 2020.
The workshop will explore the challenges facing science reporting in Africa and also give delegates techniques for delivering engaging and impactful science stories to the general media.
The science reporting workshop, which will precede the four-day NEF gathering, will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi.
As facilitators, the duo of Dr Charles Wendo, Training Coordinator of SciDev.Net, and Mr Ochieng Ogodo, Regional Coordinator of SciDev.Net in Sub-Saharan Africa, will present papers on various aspects of science journalism and script writing, during the reporting training.
