Mukhtar Yahya Usman

Mukhtar Yahya Usman is an experienced Journalist as well as advocate for social justice with over 10 years’ experience working, with proven interpersonal skill and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity. 

 

Mukhtar started working with Freedom Radio Kano, as News Assistance in the year 2012, subsequently promoted to a Reporter in that same organisation. He was later promoted to the head of International Desk and then an Editor in Freedom Radio. Mukhtar also is a Managing Editor at ‘Kano Focus’, an online newspaper based in Kano. He has published many intriguing stories resulting in policy responses.

 

Mukhtar has attended many workshops within and outside Nigeria to boost his skills. He has been working collaboratively with colleagues within and outside his environment to achieve journalistic and organisational goals.
