Dr Musliu Tolani

Musliu stands out as an individual with passion for excellence and zeal to always make a difference in the life of people. Much of this resonates in his personal achievements. Having graduated with distinction in all subjects at the end of his secondary school education and standing out as one of the best at the time, he was admitted into Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he graduated with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2009. He thereafter specialized in Surgery and was awarded Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) and that of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCS) following the completion of his training. He also holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Public Health from the University of Liverpool and had training on Leadership Management in Health at the University of Washington. He was a scholar of the National Mathematical Center Nigeria and Total Finalelf Limited. He was also honored for merit at the Junior Engineers, Technicians and Scientists (JETS) Competition in Lagos, Nigeria. Musliu currently practices as a Lecturer and Consultant Urologist at the Department of Surgery, Ahmadu Bello University / Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria. His research interest revolves around urological cancer diagnosis and treatment, cancer genetics, male reproductive health, reconstructive urology and medical education. He has a flair for writing, and has presented papers at professional conferences and published his researches in peer reviewed internationally indexed journals. He is married with kids. He dedicates some time to community health and has collaborated with other partners to pioneer and co-ordinate clinical outreach programmes to hard-to-reach areas in his region. He believes that the frontiers of scientific knowledge need to have the widest dissemination in order to have maximal impact on people and their environment.
